In its significant demonstration of corporate social responsibility, PMG Mining Company continues with its initiatives by serving the communities in the surrounding areas. These efforts are a testament to the company’s commitment to giving back and enhancing the quality of life for the seniors in our community. The elderly often face unique challenges, including financial resources and reduced access to essential services. To address these needs, PMG Mine has organised a donation handover that includes:

§  Food hampers: These are carefully selected to ensure nutritional balance. They contain non-perishable goods like whole grains, protein sources, and vegetables.

§  Elegant huggles: Recognising the importance of dignity and self-esteem, the company has provided beautiful huggles (gowns) to the elderly. These garments not only offer comfort but also bring joy and something special.

§  Valuable vouchers: The company provided vouchers that can be redeemed at a grocery store for other necessities, giving seniors the flexibility to choose what they need most. This approach respects their independence and provides a practical solution to managing daily expenses.

During the official handover the company’s Mine manager, Mr. Molaootsile Bodumele said the community’s support and dedication are the driving forces behind the company’s ability to give back. “The donation we are presenting today is not just a collection of resources; it is a testament to our belief in the importance of supporting those around us. Our company is deeply invested in the well-being and development of the communities where we operate. We recognize that our success is intertwined with the health and prosperity of these communities,” Bodumele said.

The company’s role is not only a leader in the mining industry but also as a responsible corporate citizen. Bodumele reiterated the company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility which is at the heart of the company. “We strive to ensure that our operations have a positive impact and that we leave a lasting legacy of support and growth for the communities we serve,” he said.

Those that were in attendance erupted in song and dance showing immense gratitude to the company’s goodwill gesture. The Maremane Communal Property Association’s Chairperson, Mr. Boniface Masiane spoke on behalf of the community. “We want to express our sincerest thanks to PMG Mining Company for the donation. We always had a good working relationship and we are sure that we will continue to build on this foundation, that it will remain focused on creating lasting and meaningful impact,” he concluded.
