As part of its socio-economic responsibility, PMG Mining Company has donated educational material to two high schools in the Postmasburg region of the Northern Cape. The company has a five-year commitment with Blinkklip and Ratang Thuto High Schools, to broaden the company’s commitment towards these schools.
Donating educational materials – including stationary and other resources – will help the learners and teachers succeed academically and prepare for future challenges. Resources are often limited in underfunded educational institutions, but this will assist in creating a more conducive learning environment. Learners and teachers – at both schools – expressed their gratitude and highlighted that the material will play a pivotal role in succeeding and reaching their goal of a learning culture.
PMG Mine manager Mr. Molaootsile Bodumele said in his speech: “This partnership reflects our dedication to the mining industry and the communities we are part of. We understand that the future of our local communities lies in the hands of the youth, and investing in their education is one of the most powerful ways to secure a prosperous tomorrow.”
Ratang Thuto High School teachers, learners, and PMG Mining Company staff were present at the handover.
